Solihull annually enters the largest horticultural campaign in Europe "Britain In Bloom".
The entire community is encouraged to take part in the competition too, by tending to their gardens, becoming involved in conservation projects and identifying areas which need improvements due to litter, weeds or graffiti for example.

Solihull has gained top honours in the regional "City" category for outstanding presentation of horticultural features, environmental awareness and community involvement.

The competition is administered by the Royal Horticultural Society who has recently taken over from the Tidy Britain Group in 2002. Britain In Bloom has 10 entry categories of which Solihull enters the city category (population 150,001+) >more

The judges from the Heart of England Tourist Board will be assessing the Solihull entry on Thursday 15 July via a specially designed 45 mile tour which takes in only a small highlight of some of the best features of Solihull.
