Pantomime Horse Race Birmingham 2005The fourth annual running of the City Plaza Pantomime Horse Grand National took place on Sunday 4th December, on Edgbaston Street, St. Martin's, near the Bullring. With around 33 horses and Babu taking part.
Competition was fierce. Jockeys had to contend with a gruelling
12-fence obstacle course with the water jump and foam bath providing
the biggest challenge to competitors. The final was watched by the The former Bishop for Birmingham, the Rt Rev John Sentamu and The Archbishop of Canterbury Dr Rowan Williams with The Lord Mayor John Hood. After the race the Bishop and Archbishop walked through the Bullring and German market before Dr Sentamu bid a final goodbye to Birmingham with a final service held at the ICC.
The event helped to raise money for the Lord Mayor's chosen charities

National Institute for the Blind and the Women's Campaign at
Birmingham Hospital. |
